FUN in the SUN - layout

scpaperie,pages,summer,sun,fun,layouts,scrapbooking

I just loved these pictures! This was an interesting day for my family. Syndel, my older daughter, and I are practically fish...so I was expecting Ceryse to love the water, too. Well, I was in for quite the surprise! She hated it...and I do mean HATE! LOL

So, she spent the entire day sitting in on the side of the pool with my Mom...in her little sun hat. How adorable!?

The title is hand-cut. I tried a new technique for this title...and I love it! I took a font from my computer (Aerosol) and typed "FUN" and "SUN"....then I pasted them into PowerPoint (as an image) and flipped them so that they'd print backwards.

Once I printed them out (and they were backwards) I random stamped on the non-printed side. I cut around the letters...but rounded some edges more than they were, changed a few things here and there until I got exactly what I wanted...and this was the result. A new fun and funky title...that I adore!

The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up!...the stamps, ink, and CS are from CTMH. Love it when they work together. :)

Basketball Cards

basketball,scpaperie,cards

A girlfriend of mine asked me to create some basketball themed cards to give her daughters' coaches. I thought this would be a little tough for me since I am not really a sports kind of girl, but she loved them!

These are all colored in with watercolor pencils from CTMH.

The images came from Microsoft Clip Art....I just resized them in PowerPoint and printed them out. The only thing about that is...my printer ink runs when I hit it with the waterbrush when coloring. So, some of these images I colored multiple times before I got it just right.

All cards measure about 4.25" X 5.5" (standard A2 size).

Friendship Card

scpaperie,card

Alright, so I created this card in hopes of nailing two birds with one stone, but I have missed that boat. :( I used polka dot paper in order to participate in the Cute Card Thursday challenge last week...but since I missed that deadline, we'll just pretend that wasn't my goal, OK?

However, the sketch I used was from Mojo Monday, and I'm still good there! So, see my pretty Mojo Monday sketch in use??? Isn't it lovely?

Yes, that is the DCWV "Sorbet" paper stack again. It's no secret, I'm in love! I did add some cardstock and a few other goodies from CTMH, though. The inside reads: "Life is nothing without friendship"...and that is true.

Card measures 5" X 6.5".

Cupcake Trinket Box

scpaperie,cupcake,paper,box,trinket

Okay, so this has to be one of the cutest things I've ever made! A little cupcake box - really! This is the first one I've made...so I have some tweaking to do to make it perfect, but still...very adorable!

scpaperie,cupcake,paper,box,trinket

The whole lid comes off to reveal some sweet treats waiting inside...just not cake.

I used DCWV's "Sorbet" paper stack again...I really do love that paper! With the lid on, the cupcake measures about 3" wide and just under 3" tall (including the flower on top).

To add dimension to the cupcake "base", I ran the paper through a paper crimper and then added fun borders with specialty scissors my hubby bought me a while back (but I rarely use them, so he was happy to see them in hand).

Enjoy!

Mini Easter Basket with cards

scpaperie,easter,basket,gift,box,paper

This cute little creation holds 5 mini scalloped cards. I've had this project in my "to do" file for a long time, too. I thought this would be perfect for Easter, so I figured I'd give it a whirl!

The basket measures approximately 2" X 2" X 3.5" tall. Each of the cards measure about 1.5" X 1.75". Very tiny and very cute.

scpaperie,easter,basket,gift,box,paper

I used DCWV's newer paper stack, Sorbet. I love those colors and the fact that half of the papers have glitter on them! Can we say "Fun!"? I added some CTMH cardstock, ink, and stamps, though.

Enjoy!

The LIP - LO

scpaperie,pages,layout,scrapbooking

My younger daughter, Ceryse, used to keep that bottom lip just a little bit pouty when she was very little. It started when she was only about a month old and lasted up until around 22 months. She has finally outgrown it, but is still extremely good at pouting and making your heart melt.

Funny (and true) story...when she was 4 months old we were at the Dr's office for her shots and check-up. The nurse actually got teary-eyed and even let a tear or two fall because Ceryse's little lip and pouty face just got to her. She had been a nurse for quite some time before, too, so this wasn't her first rodeo...and usually the kids didn't get to her, but she said Ceryse was just so pathetic looking she couldn't help but get a little "misty" over it.

scpaperie,pages,layout,scrapbooking

That face, I just love it...but I may a little partial. ;)
