Custom Star Gift Box

A while ago (as in November of last year) I received a custom request from a client. It was for this beautiful purple star glittery box. :)





I had a lot of fun creating this box with the monochramtic scheme. It is always interesting to work toward something that you wouldn't have thought of on your own.

All products are CTMH (except the chipboard coasters).

Beads by Syndel

My 5-year-old daughter is in *love* with Fimo right now. She wanted to try something new, but crafty (of course, because she's my daughter) and I thought she'd like making swirly beads - and I was right! :)



She made over 100 beads in one day! She was like a bead-making machine! The color combos and different swirls just kept her so excited - and ready to make more! Watching her was inspiring to me. :)





I decided that I wanted pictures of her start to finish process, so here are a couple shots from beginning to end (sorta):


She always stacks them on top of each other because, "That helps them be swirly, of course."


Then she rolls them out into a "snake" and then she ties it in a knot. All of these "intricate" steps equal a really cool swirl. :)


See - she cut off a piece of that knot and rolled it into a ball - and look at that cool swirly! Not sure how she figured all of that out, but I do think it is really neat.

Hope you had fun checking out Syndel's goodies. She was very proud of herself (I was too). If you have crafty little ones this is a great way to spend an afternoon. Even my 2-year-old played around a little with the polymer clay and had a good time. The whole process is relatively mess-free, too.

Feminine Birthday Cards

I recently had another client request a set of file folder cards that were feminine birthday cards. I decided to use a *very* old paper collection from CTMH "Promise of Spring" that was a special release at least 3 or 4 years ago.



The flowers on this card are paper pieced after they were stamped for added dimension and texture:




This flower was also paper pieced after stamping:


CTMH has a really nice assortment of paper flowers (Just Blooms) and I use them often. :)



Inking just the edges and centers of these larger flowers creates a very dramatic effect - and it's just plain pretty:




I like this card because of the twisty stem:

All of the cards are created using 100% CTMH product. They all measure approximately 4.25 X 5.5" when closed.

Color Pop - Just Because

This is the first card I created when my lovely client requested her cards. She really inspired me to put a new spin on my original card.







I *love* the black and white with pops of lime green (citrus leaf - by CTMH). It just makes me happy.

The stamps, ink, and cardstock are CTMH. The patterened paper is from CM (I think).

Fancy Fold Color Pop Cards

This is a set of six cards I created as a special request for a client. They're all basic black and white with pops of color - six different colors. I *love* this client! :)



The design for this card came from a visit to Hallmark with a friend. I typically do not go into gift/card shops because I can make just about anything I want; however, I got a *ton* of inspiration from looking through their stash. Of course, I can make them better. ;)



All of the cards measure approximately 4.25 X 5.5" (standard A2 size) when closed, so they fit into a regular card envelope.



I love the way they look all lined up together - so striking! :)



The cards are held shut by a photo corner. Once you turn it up or down, the little flap with the flower opens to the left and then the patterned paper panel opens to the right. Like this:







The black and white patterned papers come from SU! and CM - the ink and stamps come from CTMH, as does the cardstock and embellies.
