The LIP - LO
My younger daughter, Ceryse, used to keep that bottom lip just a little bit pouty when she was very little. It started when she was only about a month old and lasted up until around 22 months. She has finally outgrown it, but is still extremely good at pouting and making your heart melt.
Funny (and true) story...when she was 4 months old we were at the Dr's office for her shots and check-up. The nurse actually got teary-eyed and even let a tear or two fall because Ceryse's little lip and pouty face just got to her. She had been a nurse for quite some time before, too, so this wasn't her first rodeo...and usually the kids didn't get to her, but she said Ceryse was just so pathetic looking she couldn't help but get a little "misty" over it.
That face, I just love it...but I may a little partial. ;)
Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Coupons
I have had this card box in my "gotta make" file for a LONG time! I actually had forgotten all about it until I went digging through my stash trying to find something unique and fun for the big "V" day.
The box, closed, looks just like a box of cards...OK, well, a little fancier than a regular box of cards. :) It measures about the same, too, if not exactly. It is 3.5" tall, 2.5" wide, and .75" thick.
I made 5 little "love coupons" to go inside that match. Is that not cute, really?
The coupons are "G" rated, just in case they end up going to kids or maybe even just a friend to cheer up. :) Three of the coupons are blank, though, so you *could* get a little naughty with them...if you so desire.
I had a blast creating this little gift set and look forward to creating all kinds of other versions of it.
The color scheme for this was inspired by Cute Card Thursday's challenge for 1/14...I know, I'm late again. It was to create something using a pink and grey color scheme. I never pair those colors together, so this was a good "out of my ordinary box" project for me.
Enjoy!

I love squirrels card
This cute little card was for a friend of mine. It is an inside joke between a few of us...so it got quite the reaction when she opened it. Everyone got a great laugh.
Gotta love those cuties, right?
Enjoy!

Days of Miracle and Wonder LO
I love this picture. Syndel was so excited to have her baby sister around and more able to interact with her. I caught this picture just in time to capture the true joy in her little face. How precious! Now that they're older, I see less and less of that particular joy...especially when they're fighting over a toy or the whole "She is touching me, Mom!" situation. :)
That saying truly captures it...and I love it.
The paper is from CTMH, 'Paper Garden'...which to my knowledge is still available.
Enjoy!

Holy Cow Birthday Easel Card
I just got some new stamps in the mail and I had to play. :) These are from 'All That Scraps' and I love them - the cow makes me giggle.
The paper is from CTMH, the 'Silhouette' collection (which is still available, I think)....I love it. This paper collection is super easy to work with for all kinds of projects.
I left room on the base of the easel for a special birthday message, too.
Closed, this one measures 5" X 5". The design inspiration for this card came from Friday Sketchers. :)
Enjoy!

Teacher Gift - Easel Card
I love these little easel cards. :) They're so cute (and unique) and super easy to make!
I whipped this one up for my daughter's Kindergarten teacher, whom I just adore...plus it gave me an excuse to spend some more time crafting today...and that always makes me happy.
Closed, it measures 4" X 4"...just big enough to put on a desk and not have it take up too much room.
The calendar is hand-stamped using "Moments in Time" from CTMH...the apple and crayons are some generic $1.00 stamps I picked up from Michael's.
The inspiration for the layout was from Mojo Monday's sketch. :)
Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Goodies
I love Valentine's Day...what is there not to love, really? Lots of pink and red and candy and chocolate and love...how nice. Now that my oldest daughter is finally in school, well, there is a whole new reason for me to love Valentine's Day! I get to make all kinds of cutesy stuff for her class and teacher! :)
These were the first to be created this morning....little treat holders...and I love them. :) I found the idea from a CTMH consultant, but her name escapes me at this moment (Thanks whomever you were!).
They have a 'To' and 'From' space on the back of them and hold one Hershey mini candy bar on the inside. I think the kids will like them.
Then I moved on to little Valentine cards. They measure 3" X 3" and have a 'To' and 'From' space on the back of them. :) The ticket on the kitty cat one is pop-dotted for dimension and the whole panel with the puppy on it is raised, too.
Enjoy!

Birthday Cards - funny and elegant
INTERIOR READS: "Sometimes age just shows up all by itself. -Tom Wilson"
A friend of a friend of mine has a birthday tomorrow and my friend wanted a card to give to her. I told her that I'd whip something up...and these are what I showed her today.
She ended up picking the above card, she thought it was funny. :)
This card is more elegant and formal, something she wasn't going for. I still love it, though.
The black has been dry embossed with polka dots.
The sentiment has been raised with 3-D pop dots.
I also created a set of 30 cupcake toppers and forgot to take a picture of them before handing them over. :( Sorry!
More fun creating with CTMH products. :) These cards measure 5" X 6.5".
Enjoy!

"at PLAY" - 243 to go
This is a layout of my younger daughter, Ceryse. She was a little over 5 months old here. She LOVED that play mat and I LOVED taking pictures of her on it. :)
LEFT SIDE:
RIGHT SIDE:
I'm all about using space behind and underneath photo mats to store more photos or to journal, so I did that on both sides of this layout. :)
LEFT SIDE HIDDEN PHOTO:
RIDE SIDE HIDDEN PHOTO:
The title has 3-D dots to add some depth.
I love this paper collection from CTMH, Magic Moments, it is so versatile.
Enjoy!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #94
This week's (which was actually last Thursday, I'm late posting) CCT challenge was "anything new", could be new baby, house, new paper, new stamps...anything NEW! How fun?!
Almost everything on this card is new. The image and sentiment are from The Angel Company (a new-to-me set called "Seeds of Blessing"). The paper is new, from Me & My Big Ideas. AND - the image is colored using the "chalk popping" technique, which is also new to me! I've never done this technique before...but I'm looking forward to doing it again! :)
This card measures 6" X 6".
Enjoy!

5 pages down....245 to go
Wow! This year has already proved to be both busy and stressful for my family. I can only hope that the year improves...and quickly.
But, on to my pages...I haven't had much time to post, but I have been scrapping. It gives me a nice escape from our daily drama.
The first layout I did was a double page (yeah!):
Left side:
Right side:
Those pictures were taken during delivery (C-Section) and the subsequent days at the hospital with my younger daughter, Ceryse.
The next layout I did was a single page (I'll most likely use this as the first page in her album):
That 'file folder' opens to reveal another picture behind:
The journaling on this page goes over how I picked her name and when....which is a good place to start her album, I think. :)
The layout I completed yesterday was another double page (yeah!):
The left side:
The right side:
I love those pictures....taken in early 2008, Ceryse was only a few months old.
I'm going to *try* to go in order, so that I can get her first year scrapped and put in an album...but I'm going to be honest, that probably won't always happen. Sometimes I come across other photos and am so inspired and get an idea in my head that I'll have to skip ahead and do those now. :)
To help with my challenge, I've decided to utilize the CTMH 'how-to' books. The one I'm starting with is 'Imagine', and while it is the second of the 'how-to' books, I really like it. The layouts shown above are from that book. Once I do all the layouts in that book (which will give me 100+ pages), I'll move on to 'Cherish', which was the first book Jeanette released.
Did anyone else out there make a crafty resolution? Anyone going to scrap along with me this year?
Enjoy!

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful night!
Alright, now I usually don't 'do' resolutions, but this year I'm going to....at least try....to make one and keep it. :)
My resolution is to create more than I did this past year. I've made quite a few cards and gifty items, but (that I can recall) I haven't scrapped a single page in 2009. That makes me sad, because I love scrapbooking! I started scrapping LONG before I ever made a single card or gifty item.
I've got two beautiful daughters to document and that's what I'm going to do this year. Catch up on my oldest (5 years old) and really crank some out for my youngest (2 years old).
So, to start, I just ordered 382 prints from Winkflash.....that should get me going, yeah? They should be here either tomorrow or Monday...and I can't wait!
Ok....so here is my actual goal:
Scrapped pages: 250
Cards: 200
....starting TODAY! I'll keep a running total throughout the year.
How about you, did you make any resolutions this year? Wanna share? I'd love to hear them!
Here are some older layouts I've done (and you'll see why I need to get scrapping...my youngest has almost no pages, tisk tisk Mom!):
Easter - 2006 (Syndel)
Random photo shoot 2006 (Syndel & Mom)
Same random photo shoot 2006 (Syndel & Dad)
Ceryse as a newborn - 2007
The Discovery of Flour - 2007 (Syndel's doing)
Syndel used to call popsicles "papsimples", it was the cutest!
This was actually at Winton Woods in their sand volleyball court. 2006
More to come....LOTS!
Enjoy!
